Berit has been in the financial services industry since 1995, starting her career in credit and investment research at Moody’s and JP Morgan in New York. She joined Wells Fargo in 2007. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. To achieve this significant certification, she completed demanding educational programs, passed rigorous examinations and then met stringent experience requirements. Berit also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ certification, which has expanded her ability to provide her clients with enhanced retirement, Social Security, and Medicare planning. Moreover, Berit was part of the inaugural class to earn her CSRIC® designation, the first major financial credential dedicated specifically to SRI increasing her capability to work with sustainable, responsible, and impact (SRI) investments.
As a Private Investment Manager (PIM1), Berit has met stringent criteria to act as a personal portfolio manager to customize portfolios based on clients’ specific investment goals. She has earned the distinction of being a Platinum Council Advisor* with Wells Fargo Advisors since 2022.
Berit has been selected as a Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 20262 and a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor for 20253, achievements confirming her commitment to clients.
Berit earned her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College, studying at the University of Córdoba in Spain during her junior year. She received her MBA from Columbia University where she participated in study tours in India, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. She is a Retirement Planning Lecturer for Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies Master’s Degree in Wealth Management. Berit is committed to helping improve education and health and reducing poverty and inequality worldwide. She has taught English as a Second Language in New York City and volunteered helping women start micro businesses in Ghana, West Africa and San Francisco. Outside the office, Berit likes international travel, cooking, and running in moderation. She enjoys spending time with her two sons and spectating their sporting events and volunteering with them.
